Capital One Visit

 Capital One Visit

Today we visited Capital One as an introduction to looking at finance.  We were divided into groups and had to work together to earn a sum of money.  We could then decide how to spend that money in a make believe shop.  Various times throughout the morning the children were given incidences which increased or deducted the amount they could spend.

We also did some team building activities like the one below...

Winners of the tower building challenge!

"It showed us how to save and spend money" - Amir.

"It was good fun working hard to earn money." - Jay

"It inspired me to work for a company like Capital One, it looks like a great place to work." - Amber

"It taught me I need to be careful with money." - Gurneet

Welcome back to Year 5!

Welcome back after your summer break.  We have some exciting times ahead of us and we are looking forward to a fun-packed Autumn term.

This term we will be looking at the Victorians and where possible will be linking our Literacy, Art and ICT to this topic.  We are also hoping to take the children to the Galleries of Justice for our school trip which will allow the children to have a more hands on approach to this topic.  More details to follow...
