On Tuesday 24th September, both year 5 classes
were lucky enough to travel to Southglade Leisure Centre to take part in a
biathlon event organised and ran by the Sports Leaders from Bigwood School. The
children were very excited to take part in the two swimming and running events.
All children successfully completed the swimming challenge and took part in a
gruelling long-distance run immediately after having left the pool!
Upon passing the finish line, each child received a gold
medal and a goodie bag for completing the event. We were all really proud of
the children for not only taking part, but persevering if they found one of the
events a little challenging. We hope that this is the first of many sporting
achievements that our children can look forward to this year.
