Welcome back - we hope you all had a great Summer and
are ready for the busy term ahead. The
autumn term focuses heavily on building a solid foundation for the year! As always, we will be expecting the children
to be focused and ready to learn at all times.
We will be covering a few topics this term
including; The Victorians, the art of L.S. Lowry and Changing Sounds. We will teach mental maths on a Wednesday and
Friday’s Literacy lesson will be focusing on spelling, punctuation and grammar,
in preparation for the new
spelling, punctuation and grammar test that has been introduced in Year Six.
Times Table tests will be carried out on a Thursday afternoon.
Mr.
Shadbolt and Miss Gethings will be teaching in class all week. The exception is
Tuesday morning when Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Cook will be covering planning time.
Mrs. Bishell will be supporting both classes all week, with Miss Page working
with us Tuesday to Thursday mornings. Mr. Williams, a student teacher working
on the SCITT programme, will also be working with 5S during the autumn term as
part of his ongoing training.
